Sustainability / 2026–27
Made with care. At every stage.
Print on demand, with care for materials, energy and people. Our approach runs from the way we source paper and frames to how we produce, pack and deliver your wall art.
Specialist wall art. Responsible production.
PrintPost supports artists, photographers, illustrators, designers and online sellers with specialist wall art production and fulfilment. Through print-on-demand integrations and our ordering portal, businesses can sell their own work or a curated collection, with orders delivered directly to their customers. We operate on a business-to-business basis, with account applications reviewed before ordering access is granted.
Production & energy
Make what is needed. Make it well.
We work to combine sustainable production practices with the quality our customers expect. Our international production partners are vetted before joining our network and checked regularly against our quality standards.
Print on demand
We produce against orders, using materials economically and avoiding surplus stock of finished designs. Our just-in-time approach supplies products where they are needed, when they are wanted.
Zero waste to landfill
Our production processes inevitably create waste. We keep that waste out of landfill and make reducing, reusing and recycling part of everyday production.
Solar power and biomass heating
Solar panels at our UK production facility generate electricity to run machinery. Biomass burners use waste from our production processes to provide part of the building's heating during colder months. This helps maintain the right conditions for print and frame quality and a comfortable environment for our team.
Materials & packaging
Careful choices, from paper to packaging.
We are committed to a sustainable supply chain and to reducing our environmental impact through the materials we use and the suppliers we choose.
100% recyclable packaging
All of our packaging is recyclable. It protects prints and finished frames in transit while giving customers a route to recycle the materials after unpacking. Separate packaging components and follow local recycling guidance.
Responsible material sourcing
Wood for frame mouldings and paper for printing are central to our products. We choose suppliers carefully to support the use of renewable resources. Many of our suppliers hold FSC Chain of Custody certification, allowing forest-based products to be traced to responsibly managed forests, reclaimed materials or controlled sources.
Supplier vetting
We vet every supplier against local legal requirements and our guidelines for environmentally and ethically responsible business. We review this information regularly and monitor suppliers to check that they continue to meet or exceed our standards.
Reduce, reuse, recycle
Our circular approach includes making high-quality wall art that can be donated or resold when tastes change, giving products a second life. We apply the same thinking to our own purchasing, prioritising second-hand equipment.
Local fulfilment
Produce closer. Deliver directly.
As of 2026, our production network operates across five facilities in the UK, the Netherlands and the United States. We choose locations in response to demand in each region.
Local production
Producing closer to the delivery destination reduces the need to transport finished goods by air or sea from the UK and helps reduce our overall carbon footprint.
Direct-to-customer delivery
Our dropshipping service sends finished orders directly to your customers, avoiding an additional shipment to your business for onward distribution.
People & working practices
People are part of sustainability.
We put our people first throughout our processes and working practices. The Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code, founded on International Labour Organization conventions, sets the minimum standard our team can expect.
Our employment commitments
- Employment is freely chosen.
- Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining are respected.
- Working conditions are safe and hygienic.
- Child labour is not used.
- Living wages are paid.
- Working hours are not excessive.
- No discrimination is practised.
- Regular employment is provided.
- No harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed.
Standards & assessment
Clear standards. Regular review.
Quality management and responsible working practices support how we operate, with external certification and assessment alongside our own checks.
ISO 9001:2015
PrintPost's main UK facility is covered by ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification. This international standard sets requirements for consistently delivering products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. Our partners are vetted and monitored against our quality standards; this certificate relates to our main UK facility.
Sedex management controls: Good
Our 2026 Sedex management controls summary rates our site Good, placing it in the top 30% of UK suppliers in printing and reproduction of recorded media. It outperforms 70% of suppliers in that comparison. The summary was generated on 14 October 2026 and is valid until 16 January 2027.
Ethical, social and environmental practices
Sedex is a membership platform for supply-chain practices. SMETA, the Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit, covers labour standards, health and safety, the environment and business ethics. It is an audit methodology, rather than a certification. Sedex does not recommend or endorse suppliers based on benchmarking results.
